A Guide to Los Cristianos & Playa de las Americas – Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

Playa de las Americas has a reputation for all year round fun in the sun.

The beaches, which are artificial, are beautiful and Playa de las Americas and the adjacent Costa Adeje are an uninterupted stream of hotel-apartments, pubs, bars, discos, souvenir shops and lots of bright lights and noise.

You get what you would expect when you come here – a good laugh and a great suntan.

Los Cristianos is a bit quieter and still manages to retain some of its original Spanish identity. Just 3 km out of this town is the Parque Ecologico Las Aguilas del Teide. This is one of the parks which offers a great day out for the family. Other family excuriosn nclude the Octopus Park (Water Park) and also a camel ranch. Free buses are available to these theme parks.
